I am officially signed up.

My first 10k race is going to be the Deseret News 10k happening July 24th. As of a couple weeks ago I am officially signed up to race. I have been following my 8 week training program and only have about 3 1/2 weeks until I run. I am switching weeks and days around a bit. And I have yet to run the 4th day. I just have a hard time fitting in that 4th run with all the other things I have in my life to do. I feel pretty comfortable I should be able to run a 10k. I may not be super fast, but I just want to finish and be injury free. I have heard good things about this 10k. It is a lot down hill and a pretty fast 10k. Which makes me feel better about it. I just don’t want to get too confident and then not be able to run it. So I should be running 6 miles as my long run this week. Then 7 miles next week. Then I plan to tapper off a bit to rest my legs. I love how before my 5k, I felt so fresh and my legs felt so light. Resting legs before a hard run is a must. There’s my plan for the next little bit. Expect the best. Prepare for the worst. Right?
